Queen? Congress - now a Frankenknife

Post by Reverand »

Here is a nice little congress-pattern knife that I found cheap - with one broken blade. In-hand it looks just like a Queen, especially that dark Winterbottom bone, but there is no tang stamp on any of the blades.
Before 1
Before 1
I replaced the blade with a new Schrade blade - making it a Frankenknife. No big deal, since it has had some abuse anyway and is simply a user. I didn't even polish it, I just dropped it right in my pocket.
After 1
After 1
After 2
After 2
Jesus is life.
Everything else is just a hobby.

Nice transformation! Hard to believe it's the same knife. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

That's a fine salvage job! I would say it's definitely a Queen and since there was no tang stamp it probably is from the 1960s.

Great job on the resto!!
Hey, so what if it doesn't say "Queen".... it says "reverand" and that says a lot!
It's a beauty! I have a new respect for those congress knives since I did a little research and learned the origin and use for the originals.
2 Thumbs up!
