Are These Schrade LB5 Liners?

Post by Jeffinn »

I purchased a small quantity of these.
They appear to be all nickel silver (liners and bolsters). I took a quick look on the bay and it looks like they might be LB5 parts. But since I haven’t had a LB5 on my bench I don’t have anything to compare it to.
If it helps, the pre-drilled holds and the actual shape of the liner is identical to the 5OT in the photo next to it (might be an opportunity for a few custom 5OT’s in the future).
Anyone recognize these?

Jeff I'd say that's definitely LB5. If you have the 5ot parts put them in there and see if it works. I'm sure it will though.

Thanks Eric.
I’ve got some 5OT parts so I’ll give it a try.

I think they're pretty much the same Jeff. I have put a5OT blade in LB5 frame and it worked just fine.

The 5ot blade and lock bar does fit these liners.
Since the lock bars are pretty much unavailable anywhere I decided to try my hand at making one (I’m considering making a few of these knives). It turned out fine. I would have preferred to buy a few lock bars but at least I know I can make them if need be.
