Camillus 72
Camillus 72
I moved recently. While I was packing I found this old Camillus. Does anyone have a blade for this knife? If so is it worth fixing or just leave it as is.
Thanks

Just asking for some advice on this matter. Thanks

Good Afternoon , always nice to find a 72 in any shape. The one you posted is not old or very special, unless a family piece or other personal attachment. I personally would just use it,put a good edge on it ,oil it up ,maybe use the broken blade somehow ? . If you wanted to get a secondary blade and swap it out yourself ,it’s not too hard if you have the tools and some knowledge. But would just run with it the way you found it

Re: Camillus 72
Since it's a scout knife, it's a CAMILLUS 1047, not a CAMILLUS 72.

Thank you all for your opinions on this. I think I will just use it as is. Heck I have done with out it for years. Also thanks for the clarification on the model number.
Re: Camillus 72
I have a blade for this. It's not new, but it is all there. I can send it to you and you can do it yourself, or I'll do it for you for the price of shipping.
Or you can leave it as-is.

What a fantastic old user “72”. And what a generous offer from Glenn too!

Just arrived today. I would like to thank Glen publicly for the excellent repair on my knife. This just shows the great people on this site. Not only did he repair the knife but also donated a blade for repair.
Gerard
Thank you again.Gerard

Nev52, I had your first name as Rod but I see your signature says Gerard. Where did I go wrong?

Thanks. That settles that. It would be embarrassing to call someone one name when their name was actually something different. Whew!! Glad I asked. Dodged a bullet there.
