Camillus Sailor Knife
I picked up this 4 1/2"Camillus last weekend at the local flea market for $5 "as is". The "as is" part is that the blade had been tipped and something really hot had come into contact with the pile side Delrin handle material. Easy enough to fix. Rehandling was done with some dyed laminated gunstock scrap. Reprofiling the blade made it look almost original.I didn't disassemble the whole knife, but removed the 2 steel spring pins, and the spring. Doing it this way one must remember to glue only one handle slab on, let the glue set, and then drill through the liner pin holes before gluing the second slab on. Otherwise you will end up painting yourself into a corner and will not have access to the liner holes. Reprofiling the blade shortened it by about 3/16", but that is acceptable.

Awesome work! I think the laminated gunstock material looks terrific on that knife.
