New blades in a 77OT Muskrat

Post by Reverand »

Nothing too spectacular here, but this is the first Muskrat pattern that I have taken apart. I picked it up last week at an antique store, on sale.

I still have several US Schrade blades that I bought from Discount Cutlery, but none that had the 77OT stamp. In fact, I did not have a clip blade that size in carbon steel. And since it would be wrong to have one carbon and one stainless . . . I replaced both with Stainless blades!

These blades centered about as perfectly as any that I have ever done, and the walk and talk are spot on. There was a lot of pitting on the backsprings, and I left the worst of it. It is an old warrior, so it is okay to keep a few scars!

That is a great save, Reverand!
Love the muskrat pattern, very useful when processing venison.
