I did that during my tenure with Millie. Used Remington oil to flush the joint,
and blew it out w/compressed air. It was fairly clean, I thought ....

I then gave her a good dose of Tuf Glide. I wrapped an old rag around the blade
then worked the pivot back and forth for a few minutes.

She was still stiff and gritty .... ::shrug::

Quick Release is usually a miracle worker, aapk member TbarK ? And the guy from Latama (Italian knife co) developed it for automatics.

I'm a big fan of Quick Release. I doused it good with Quick Released and worked he blade open and closed a fair amount. It didn't really smooth up any.

Scraped out a small wad of lint, some quick release (again), opens a little easier, and a lot smoother now.

Well the mail lady delivered the barlow last Wednesday in a box that I wasn't expecting, Inside of a red velvet bag was an interesting presentation case safely cradling the barlow. I was out of town for a few days and carried her with me but no call to duty presented itself until I got home when I found a bi-fold door hanging by a thread. I hate bi-fold doors with a passion but with help of some gorilla glue I was able to secure the top pin that had broken free. When the glue dried I used the barlow to cut away the excess and she performed beautifully. When it came time to retire with a potent potable, a new bottle of Canadian whiskey needed to have the seal broken and again the barlow performed with high marks. I'm hoping today that she'll get some increased duties and maybe earn a date with a sharpening stone. More to come........
