Great Eastern Cutlery 2008 Production started

Post by ghbud »

This week Great Eastern is going to start shipping their 2008 production knives. The first two will be #73's. One will have Red Wine Jigged bone handles (two blade model) and the second will be a #73 with a single blade and American Elk Horn handles.

Production on both of these will be 50 pieces with the Elk Horn probably totaling closer to 40.

Another change they're making is to number only the first 50 knives in a run. If they run 150 of a specific knife, the first 50 will be marked 1 of 50 and serial numbered while the balance of the run will not be.

Just to make it a bit more clear (?) here's the email I got back from Great Eastern regarding the blade type in the Elk Horn Handle:
Greg,

It is a drop point/skinner blade.

Sounds like they are talking about a fixed blade skinner rather than a folder. ::shrug::

Hukk, I decided not to pursue it any further and to just let myself be surprised  Just further confirmation of Eugene Forsey's quotation I guess.
