Hoping to get this thread back on original topic/intent. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39799#p386211

If you have information and examples of a maker's stamps and the dates when they were used, post them here. If you have a question about a particular stamp, and can't find it already posted here, please make a new post with your question in the Knife Q&A section, or the brand-specific section, whichever is more appropriate.

Thus thread is for posting reference material, not Q&A. Thanks! ::handshake::

I hear the Queen Cutlery Historical Society group is working on an updated, and more accurate guide of all tang stamps used on S&M and Queen knives for the last 130 years. Whenever it is released, I'll place a copy in here.

Don't know if this will help anyone out or not but here is a picture(and some closeups)of a souvenir of the Phillippines showing the various types of weapons they used over the years. The knives are made of bits of thin aluminum and decorated having carved wood handles. They range in size from about 3 to 5 inches in length.

Just an FYI, if you call Case customer service they will send you a plastic wallet card with all their tang stamps pictured. It you're nice, they'll send you two. Great for quick reference.

I have always been able to identify the maker of a knife using AAPK forums but here is one that has me frustrated Stamp is on an antique wood carving knife. Very light stamp but is a side view of a standing antlered stag or deer. Still trying to get a picture to post but stamp is nearly gone. Germany is also stamped on tang. Any ideas?

Welcome to AAPK. Questions like that usually get answered more quickly in the General Knife Discussion forum viewforum.php?f=2. Some pictures of the knife and its stamping will also help. This thread is for folks to post charts of knife companies’ tang stamps so not as many people will be likely to see your post here.

That will be a great resource. I've printed it out and it's going into my "miscellaneous" binder for future reference!

I would like to thank everyone up to now for posting tang stamps. This is one of my ideas I think did work.
Going back six or more years I had some knives I could not find information on some tang stamps.I spent hours searching.
I though with all the members we had on AAPK with a wide amount of knowledge we could work together to make this happen.
I would like to thank you .

Goins is also a great resource. I seen it on EBay for the absurd price of 200 dollars. I found a copy online for 30 bucks.
