It would be no question for me, micarta or G10. I call it almost bullet proof. Moisture or extreme temps don't bother the stuff, If it wasn't a using type knife I would go with English Walnut. I would like to see it after your done, whatever you decide to use. ::handshake:: Terry

Well, here is the finished product. Not exactly sure what the handle material is. I got it from Kristi Bates, so it's older. It's either really tight grained wood or dymondwood, but it finishes really nice. I hand honed the blade, and man is it sharp!

The blade was $130, so I'm going to probably put a starting auction price of $100 on it at the event. If anyone is interested in bidding on it,just PM me, I can do a proxy bid for you. The wife saw it last night and asked why I didn't do anything like this for her. Probably because she wouldn't spend $130 on a knife, LOL

Here's the other knife I did for our company fundraiser, but this one is just a raffle item. I got the dyed stag from KleenCut61.

Our fundraiser went well. We had many items to raffle off. I'm not sure yet how much money was raised, but between corporate sponsors and sales, we should be well north of $10,000. I was shocked and surprised that my Santoku went for $350!

The best part was a younger boy won the pocket knife raffle. His dad, who owns one of the larger construction companies in the area, approached me after. We were chatting about the work I do on knives, and that he was honored that his son was able to get some of my work. He said his son was ecstatic to have won the knife. He told me that he and his son do a lot of outdoors things together like fishing and hunting, so his son knows how to properly use and care for a knife.

That kinda made my night, and is one of the reasons I do what I do.

Congratulation Glennbad, you helped with the fund raiser and provided a great knife to an appreciator. I appreciate your work and your generosity. Thanks for the story to go with the knife. ::handshake::
