Case Handle Colors

Post by Paladin »

Guys,
In a recent batch of knives I got several modern Case knives and some of them have colors that confound me. I admit I am a little color challenged so any help here will be greatly appreciated.
I am attaching photos of some purple handles and the photo is not a good representation of the actual color. The purple on the actual handles is more 'washed out' looking to me,, much less of a brilliant color than my camera made it appear.
Can someone explain the difference in Cabernet (which I suspect these are) and Ultra-Violet? Is there a grape color?

Ray, I’m not sure what color that is but I’m guessing Ultra Violet. Cabernet bone is more a maroon color, a lot like red wine. I slipped over to the Case Collectors Club forum and kleped some pictures posted by members there. IMHO the Cabernet isn’t bad. I can’t abide the Ultra Violet. But I guess that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

Ken,
Thanks for that. I just wasn't sure but I'll proceed based on your input.

Thanks again,

Definitely ultra violet. Here are a couple of pictures of some Cabernet bone from some in my collection. That one in Ken’s photo is not like most of the ones that I have or have seen. I don’t have any ultra violet ones.

And then there’s Cranberry bone. Once again a picture lifted from the CCC forum.

OP knives are definitely Ultra Violet.

For comparison...
From Top to Bottom:
Cabernet
Purple Haze
Ultra Violet
Periwinkle
