I'm asking about eBay item 202737651166.

The poor thing got cheated out of its second blade but its stag looks nice. For all I know it's from China and if I ever wanted to sell it most potential buyers would shave my hesitation to buy a knife who's manufacturer is not known so I've decided the bids are already too high for me but I'm curious.

I can't open the e-Bay listing but there was a guy by the name of Skip Bryan who made a Colorado folding hunter back in the 1970's.He even did a series for Knife World magazine on how to build it.

Finally got it to open. The knife in question looks like one of Skip's knives and the bidding seems to indicate it.Only problem I see is the seller. If I recall correctly his name has been bandied about on this forum more than a few times.

Thank-you for writing that Skip Bryan made the knife and when. I doubted that I'd get any answer. This place is a treasure chest of folding knife information. The knife probably went to a bidder who already was familiar with Skip Bryan. It did have nice stag.

I typed in the number the O.P. posted on e-Bay and it went right to the auction. It only had a couple of hours left then and there were 18 bidders and it was up to over $100.That was last night.

You are quite welcome my friend;always glad to help. I'll see if I can dig out the article Skip did for Knife World;it was spread out over several issues.
EDIT: The article about making a folding hunter was NOT done by Skip but rather Blackie Collins and started in the February 1978 issue of Knife world. Skip Bryan was the editor of the publication at the time. There is a picture on the cover of the March 1978 issue of the Colorado Hunter stating they were a limited edition of 300 knives. No price given but it is around in one of the papers. Here also is the article(parts 2 & 3)of how to build a folding hunter using only basic hand tools. Wish I had the rest.

Ray now i see that you do not just have thousands of knives but you also have plenty of print material to do with knives. And you are able to remember what you have and find it. You are a remarkable person and a great asset to AAPK.
