Does this look real to you guys??
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
According to this, that stamp was used on hunting knives. But someone on AAPK smarter than me will have to tell you if yours is real or not.

the bone covers look right , so do the tang stamps. but the ones i have seen, have the nail pull more near the centre of the blade.maybe the blade has been ground /worn shorter.?
it is still a nice knife i like it.

what can see from the tang stamp numbers, is 06 for jigged bone 1 for single blade. and 050 for long front bolster, coke bottle ,barlow style pattern.
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
You know what the “c” in the beginning is for mine doesn’t have the “c” an doesn’t have the bottom bolster

C is for cap bolster. The knife has two bolsters - one on each end. Those without a C in the pattern number have only one bolster. Here’s a thread about the 61050 Coke Bottle pattern that you should read if you’re into that pattern. viewtopic.php?f=66&t=57426

Re: Does this look real to you guys??
The nail pull on the pre-1920 __1050 cokebottle blade is located where it is on the knife in question (i.e., closer to the blade tip).
The blade, the markings, bolster sizes, and the knife frame all look right to me. I have a little heartburn with the handles. The jigging style and color look out of character to me. At worst it would be re-handled. When I have a chance I will take closer look. If you have access to better photos, it would be helpful to see them.
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
Any idea what a fair value of this knife would be?
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
This is the only comparable I could find online but the handles look the same just not shield
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
here is one sold on ebay recently for $127. looks in much rougher condition than yours ?
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
here is another sold for$330. better condition, so i would say yours is worth some where in the middle ?

Re: Does this look real to you guys??
My eyes are old, so I may not be seeing things the way they really are. To my eye, the bone on the first knife doesn't match to the bone on the second knife. Furthermore, a Rogers jigging pattern seems to be what was used. The first knife doesn't appear to have a Rogers jigging pattern to me.
Have you read through the AAPK thread that Mumbleypeg referenced regarding Case Cokebottle patterns? I believe you would find a "comparable" in that thread.

I actually don’t own the first example it was offered to me for 350 but I’m going to pass if I’m paying that much I want original handles.
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
wise move, that one offered to you is not worth $350
Re: Does this look real to you guys??
The OP knife looks okay to me.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
