Jack Ryan’s pocket knife
Could anyone identify the knife used by Jack Ryan in Season 2, that was gifted to him by his friend. There’s a very good shot on episode 1 when he opened the box and he continues to use to it through the next couple episodes. I don’t have screencaps to show it but the some scenes of a fight with the knife are available on yt (SE2E2). I don’t want to give out too much spoilers for those of us who haven’t watched it.

I have tried to watch but can't figure out how to get it going on my tv. It would be fun to know what knife he was using. Maybe I can get one of the grand kids to hook it up for me.

Same thing! It took me twenty minutes just to figure out how to mirror. It is definitely a traditional long pull clip point with a corkscrew. So far there are scenes with it in episodes 1, 2, 3

Re: Jack Ryan’s pocket knife
I mentioned this to my wife and right away she had it on Prime and we paused it on the knife. I think it’s a Boker Quattro. My first thought when I saw it was Boker. Only thing is the shape of the handle is a bit different and the blade looks to have peak in it and not the flat rounded blade that the Quattro has.

Here’s the YouTube scene to the knife fight when he flips it out 1:50 mark

I wish I could pull up the box shot but prime won’t let me screen cap on mobile

I think that might be from a different show. The one he had as seen from the YouTube clip is a small slipjoint

Re: Jack Ryan’s pocket knife
From what I saw on the show clip, it reminds me a lot of either of these. Although, he's either flipping it open or it's AO, which those knives aren't.

Re: Jack Ryan’s pocket knife
Actually, looks like a prop knife made specifically for the show from a real knife. Can't see what the original is though...

Kinda like this one, but with the corkscrew on the pile side. Can't tell if it's got a secondary pen blade, many of these are 2 blade.

Re: Jack Ryan’s pocket knife
But how is he one-hand opening that knife? It is hard to see, but I didn't see a thumb stud, hole or flipper nib. I suppose it could be just a loose flick knife, but it seems to lock-up tight!

I agree, I think it's a continuity error. If you scroll through the pics in the link, there is one that shows a thumb stud of some kind.TwoFlowersLuggage wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 5:06 pm But how is he one-hand opening that knife?
