The Ontario P4 USMC Combat knife was a civilian version of the Ontario 498, which is the current MIL-K-20227 (modern nomenclature for the USMC 1219C2 / USN MK2,

The P4 has a brass guard, brass pommel and fancy (red/white) spacers and a 440A stainless steel blade, RHC of 49-52. Came out around 2012 or 2013, IIRC, maybe earlier.

In 2014, most were provided with a black coating on the blade and apparently donated to the Task Force Dagger program for a fund raiser sale.

If it is in a Kabar 1221 box, that's wrong. It should be in a Ontarion P4 box like Jerry posted.

Thanks, I didn't think that was the right box but it's the one I got it in.
