Ulster USA Utility knife

Post by KimboHeslep »

I have a pocket knife made by Ulster USA. Looks really old can anyone give me any information about it? I know it does not have an awl, but instead it has a smaller pen blade... Thank for any help...

I saw an ad on eBay showing about the brass liners on this type knife with my same markings. Same style pen knife and all and they were asking a price of almost $450. They had a write up showing that it was made by the company prior to World War II. I’ll see if I can find it and add the link I thought it was interesting. Thanks for your reply

Ray who mentioned that the seller is from Texas is also from Texas as am I. The seller is not to be trusted in either his descriptions or his prices. He is a huskster. ::td::

I’m also from Texas but it’s not me either. :lol: The seller is well known to folks on this forum as a nefarious operator. ::skeptic:: You can find a lot about the seller by simply typing ditwtexas into the search engine here. The knife he is offering is worth maybe 10% of what he’s asking. JMO

Well thanks for the advice on this. I did see it a while back and wondered OK it’s a must have for a collector. But it’s been on there for a while and I did like the story that was with it buy couldn’t find evidence of that exactly. And well I only paid $5 for the knife and I thought it looked cool and I added it to my collection.

These are the one that made the wall lol...

Note: I have more knives in drawers, heck all over the place LOL again I appreciate you guys chiming in.

thanks again,

For comparison, these normally sell in the $30 - $40 range;

But you could ask $9,000.00 and wait for a drunk, impulse buyer to come along. ::mdm::

Phil, I try to separate my impulse buying from my drinking! That way I only waste money on beer (at the time!). OH

Kimbo, Your knife has the “Shrinky-Dink” handle of the WW-II and post WW-II through 1960 era. Good buy for $5.00; I bought an Official Scout with the same handles 20 years ago for $5.00 - it is still holding up too, no more shrinkage over the last 20. OH
