Am I missing something

Post by PetraBlue »

Got this little gentleman’s knife at an auction recently
It’s a Colonial single blade. It has a clip on one side and I can’t figure out if it’s made this way or it’s missing something
Thanks in advance

It's a tie clip. Imperial made a few versions of those also. Probably from the '50s or '60s.

Are you sure it's not a money clip? Can't picture it working as a tie clip.

It can be used as either a tie clip or a money clip but I believe it was intended to be a tie clip.Back in the day when people actually wore neckties to work every day! Knives or simulations of knives(i.e.:swords,etc.)were very popular as tie clips.I have a small accumulation of them and think I did a post somewhere on here about them.
