info on new york knife co trapper

Post by terryl308 »

Need help id ing this trapper, tang stamp is New York (in an arch) with Walden in the center and Knife Co on the bottom also in an arch. With USA stamped on the back. It has what I believe to be stag for the handle. My question is about when was it made? or is it a fake, it belongs to my neighbor and his dad gave it to him in the early 90's. I don't have much more information. Standard type trapper blades.

They were made by Schrade for Smoky Mountain Knife Works around 1995 as a NY Knife Co commemorative. There were a number of different patterns made. I think it was four including the sharpfinger but I'm not positive. They also made a similar round of NYK knives with bone handles.
