Mom sent me this Schrade, can it be dated?

Post by TripleF »

No, not out on a date (which I what I would say, LOL).

I asked me mom if it was my dads because he was an avid outdoorsman. She replied, I got nothing from your father.

It's a Sharpfinger by Schrade, with a GUNS & AMMO shield.

Scott those were from the late 1970's, pretty sure 1977 but not positive. They were freebies given out by Guns & Ammo magazine for subscription upgrades. Mighty generous offer if you ask me! Nice knife, they show up every now and then but they're fairly scarce.

EA42 is about spot on. The 152 pattern was used by Peterson Publishing for Guns and Ammo in 1976-77, along with the 154 pattern, for promotion of a two-year subscription. Shields on the black sawcut Delrin handles were stamped with "Guns & Ammo" on the Sharpfinger, and only "Hunting" on the Drop Point Hunter. They used the production 1095HC blade blanks and custom "SCHRADE over U.S.A." tang stamps. They also were boxed with a sheath. The offer ended October 31st, 1977.
