Schrade 8880T-B

Post by bargainstore777 »

Looking for info on a recent purchase. Its a stockman style knife. says SCHRADE Hand Made on one side and 8880T-B China on the other side Also has Genuine Buffalo Horn etched on the blade. Research I've done i think it may be a 74-75 model, but the China throws me off. Makes me think its more modern.

I believe it is a modern knife, made by the Taylor Cutlery company in their Chinese manufacturing plant.
They bought Schrade after their bankruptcy (in 2008, I think?).
Tang stamps prior to that had "USA" somewhere on it.
Post a picture of your knife and a closeup of the tang stamp if you need more information, but I don't believe that Schrade had ANY knives made in China before Taylor purchased the rights to them.

Yeah - Schrade USA shut down in 2004, Taylor may have made a few (prob by camillus) in the USA in 2005 or so but if it is marked china its probably pretty current knife. although I would like to see what you're talking about - Clint
