New Slicer

Post by FRJ »

I got this nice French/French style slicing knife the other day at a flea market. 12" blade.
It cleaned up nice enough. $6 ............ and I didn't have to pay shipping!

Nice one Joe! I have a couple of the large French ones with the trumpet in the logo.Something about old kitchen knives that trip my trigger.I have several old bread knives;a couple of which I use all the time.I buy French bread that is made locally unsliced and have at it.My last one was a Clauss Fremont Ohio aluminum handled bread slicer that dates to the early 1900's.

Thanks, I like them too. I've got a bunch of them. They sure are nice to use. I've got an old Clauss bread knife too. I'll have to dig it out and share it soon. I like old steels too.

Thanks Jerry.
I took another look at the knife and found something I hadn't noticed. A stamp. A very refined clear stamp that reads HAND FORGED over CORICAMA over ITALY. Along with a man at a anvil within a triangle.
Pretty cool.
