J Russell Green River Works

Post by BWT »

Not something I collect but couldn’t let them go. All with ivory handles,no cracks. They did have rust that I removed, now just patina. Wondering now whether to leave the patina alone or try to remove since they are kitchen and not an ole folder??? Not sure if that’s the original pouch??? Thanks for looking.

I have a hard time passing up items like this as well. Beautiful bunch and no cracks in the ivory is unusual for such old knives. I wouldn't bother with anything more than arresting the rust and removing any loose scale. Those old felt rolls are great storage for other knives as well. Looks like it very well could be original to the knives.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
