This is a family item. I believe it was given to my grandfather either when he made Police Chief in 1942 or when he left the force in ‘44. It’s more likely that it was the former. He was the Chief Constable of Surrey BC Canada. Sounds impressive but the whole force was six guys. :wink: It was a big area though.
Anyway, it’s a bone handled IXL set. It mush have been pretty decent when it was new. The case is made to precisely fit those particular bones.
At some point, someone threw in a cigarette pack to act as a guard on the sharpening steel. I added it as a curiosity. It’s probably from the Fifties.

Nice set Ann with nice stag handles!
If you sharpen up that knife you will be amazed at the quality. I think I may still have a used up blade about half the original width. I took the stag to re handle another knife.
