Nothing to brag about in a while. Went to my first auction in a while yesterday. Got out bid on a very nice Plumb single, not a mark on the poll, and a equally nice Keen Cutter double. I did get this True Temper Kelly Works for $10, and a box lot with the no name double, a brush hook, the yellow snatch block, and a very rusty shingle hatchet, that I misplaced already, so it's not in the pic.

Incidentally, been meaning to ask if your username is short for German Shorthaired Pointer? My dad and sister each have 2.
Hey R.R. how are your dad's and sister's German Shorthaired Pointers doing? Have you broken down and got one yet? You can't go wrong...

Thanks, the two that got away were really nice, but I was there to buy something else and only had so much money.

I like that Wards, I wonder when they quit selling axes? I guess before they went under, haha. I like all plumbs. The one that got away was one of the nicest I've seen. It went for about $20.

Not an axe , but kinda . Hope you guys don’t mind if I post a couple pics of an old adze I got

This belonged to my great uncle . He was a carpenter from 1890 ‘s to 1938 when he got injured and couldn’t work anymore. I inherited the trunk of tools in the picture. Lots of cool stuff in there . Anyway , just got interested in collecting axes and hatchets and the reason for looking at this thread .

From what I remember of the markings , this thing is from the mid to late 1880’s . The handle is wonderful to hold in hand . It still cuts well , but it’s retired now to just me lookin at it . ::nod::
