A set of Spurs for my Son

Post by Hoggslayer »

I think these will fit into this category nicely because they are pretty sharp. :D
I made these for my sons 18th birthday.

I cant wait to see the man he is becoming.

I really hope he doesn't use them very much but I know he will.

Beautiful spurs. Very nice work. And a very nice photograph too.

I hope he stays healthy and doesn't wear them out and becomes a carpenter or an electrician or a mason or a plumber.
Anything but riding bulls. :D

I don't know anything about spurs but those look very well made. Is this something you do on a regular basis? Superb photo by the way. ::nod:: ::tu::

Yes, and Yes. I forged welded the shanks together. I forged the Rowels, heated and shaped the bands from a rasp and ground away everything that didn't look like a spur. :D

Those are beautiful! You did a fantastic job.

As to your son riding bulls, I surely do appreciate the guts and the skill those boys have. But I can’t imagine if it were my boy up there. I think my guts would turn inside out to see him a top of that bull. Lol.

If that's your first pair, I'd say you have some heavy-duty skills. ::nod:: ::tu:: ::nod::

I salute you Hoggslayer on an exceptionally fine and useful looking set of spurs. I think your boy will learn lessons in determination that will serve him well in life. I bet he will be proud of those spurs. :D ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: :D

And those rowels are a work of art!

Well, 1 1/2 pair. I made two left hand spurs at first and had to scrap one. :D
