I picked up this Bangkung. Yay, my first sword!

Post by zoogirl »

Yesterday, this one jumped up any yelled ‘Pick me!’, so I did. Paid $25Cdn for it, which is probably $.50 US. ::shrug::
It’s nice and solid. I don’t actually know why it jumped up at me like that. My idea of a sword is something medieval and English. I’m glad I got it, though.
I know it’s likely post WW2. Beyond that, and the fact that it might be a little rare, I got nothing.
Well, nothing but a cool sword!

Ann, it is high on the cool factor. It looks pretty substantial as well. Some things make the little girl or little boy in us rise to the top. Some thing fun to fiddle with. And with all those other knives just icing on the cake. ::nod:: ::groove::

Haven't heard of that one before but it looks pretty substantial. Sounds like a good deal to me! ::tu::

Nice one! Is that a Wharncliffe blade on that one, or is it the other end that is sharpened?

I have an old Dexter knife my great-Granddad used to cut sides of pork off a hog--12" blade on that thing!

Yes, I guess a Warncliff would be it.

Very cool. I put that in the same class as a Kukri or a Plumb Bolo. I want a Plumb Bolo bad, but keep buying guns instead.
