Ontario Air force knife
Got this Ontario from an older gentleman who has passed away all I was told was he got it while in service and used it extensively. I have seen quite a few of them but none with this blade so just wondering is it a different blade or had he just wore it down this much any help will be appreciated

Looks normal to me, do you think it has been cut down? Cool acquisition.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I don't think it's been cut down because there's no grind marks but maybe it's been wore to its current state1967redrider wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:21 pm Looks normal to me, do you think it has been cut down? Cool acquisition.

Oh, someone could have been cleaning up the blade and totally ground the fuller off. Maybe a Theater mod? Does it look like the blade has been thinned?

Sure looks to me like it's been on a grinder.

In the first picture of the right side of the knife I can see the end of the fuller at the Ricasso.
The top of the fuller looks to be almost at the top edge.
The fourth picture the Ricasso is obviously thicker than the rest of the blade.
He evidently ground on new saw teeth and thinned the blade considerably

Sure looks like it has been ground a bunch, they completely removed the fuller. They did however do a pretty good job of removing the grind marks. Also looks like the saw teeth are ground down some also. Still a nice old knife. Terry

Since posting this I found out that the gentleman who had it reworked the blade because the blade was to thick for the jobs he had to do so he made it the size he needed. Don't know if he did this while in the military or after he was home thanks for all the infoeveled wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 1:07 am In the first picture of the right side of the knife I can see the end of the fuller at the Ricasso.

Far from original, but I appreciate what it is and the work that went into customizing it.
