Here is a WWI Knuckle Duster, with what is left of the original scabbard.

Yours appears to be an LF&C, Is it the hard to find one with the extra knob on the bottom.
Do you have the bottom iron piece also.

I'm sure you have one but if you don't I think I have a photo of what that sheath looks like if you would like to have it redone or use what you have as a pattern for a remake with the leather and all from scratch. Then keep them all together with the partial genuine article.

I do not have the bottom piece, I wish I did. A few years ago there were some reproduction sheaths on the market. I should have bought a few. They were very close to the original.

I have yet to find one of these knives with an intact original sheath. Do you know where I can find one?

Here's a First Special Forces pocket knife that belonged to my wife's uncle. He was killed by a booby trapped pistol near the end of 44 in France. We're still trying to figure out what outfit he was with.






In case any body is wondering, the phillips screwdriver was used to tighten their ski bindings.

Great knife . Ulster made a similar pattern for the Canadian forces in WWII. Is your knife made by Ulster or another company?

Could your wife's uncle have been with the 10th Mountain Division? These Ulster knives are often called 10th Mountain Div knives. They are not as common as other WW2 pocket knives.

Have a friend that recently bought a house and he found this German Dagger and I was wondering if any of you can help him out with any info at all, here are a few pictures and some info he got off the WWW.


Lynn, this is what I know about this dagger and I got it off the inter-net.It is believed to be of the Second Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger adopted in 1937. They were worn by Air Force officers as part of their dress uniform. Manufactured by Alcoso.

This is the PAL Cutlery Pioneer knife that was issued to my father before the Phillipine Campaign.

Some here have already seen the Nambu--it was in my first post on the site with another knife. When he "liberated" it (on Luzon) it was still in the packing grease. Sorry about the repeat--this is the pic I've got. Need to work on my photo skills and take some more of other knives.

He's still alive, and still remembers those days. He gave me the knife and the pistol in the last couple of years.

He also had a TL-29 but someone "liberated" it from him when he was working for the phone company after the war.

PS: I just regained control of my 1942 1911a1 .45 US Army Colt (as marked) One of these days I will shoot some nice photo's and post them in the off topic area. Should anyone be in the market for one I just ran across a 1943 a1 officers model. The shop only wants $2450.00 which isn't actually to bad considering how good it's condition is,

Back when I was a novice collector I was at an estate auction and one of these knives was there for the highest bidder. It was in unused condition with the blade etch and the sheath as fresh as the day it left the factory.

I looked it over, back then I was not very interested in military knives, and thought it was a reproduction It looked too good to be true

Well all these years later I can tell you it was the real deal, it sold for $40.00 , what a steal!

Well It was a good Sat. morning at the G&K show...picked up a couple of Imperial's, the MK3 is guard marked and in
decent shape with a nice scabbard. The other knife I thought was a MK1 may not be...allthough Cole's book list's it
as a MK1, in an article by Frank Trzaska he call's it a early pilot survival knife made 1953 to 1957. It's very well built
with the same handle and guard as the MK3. just a shorter and wider blade. It didn't have a sheath and I'm wondering
what type came with it...a leather or hard shell...sure would appericate any info or picture's of one so I know what
to look for.

It is really hard to tell without holding and examining but yours appears to be the peened tang model, If it is, the false edge should be sharp, If it is it would be a six stitch per inch with six rivets total. If it is not sharp, it would be a five rivet sheath, a nice find in anybodies estimation. If you ever want to rid yourself of it I have a nice sheath I would park it in. It is prior to Marbles making JPK's. Although they did receive a spec sheet for building them, they waited for the six inch version a bit later. The bent tang is correct as there was three models the bent tang both bright and dark and the straight tang that I am pretty sure was dark. The leather was a natural cowhide.
