WW1 Remington,Winchester and Sanderson bayonets
WW1 Remington,Winchester and Sanderson bayonets
Have a few bayonets that will be listing for sale . My question to you military gurus , do the scabbards match the bayonets that are by them. They are all the frog type except one is web belt type. Do know most other info in regards to clean out hole or not. Model and acceptance dates . The 1907 Sanderson with the GR (George Rex) is that made after 1910 but before USA entered WW1 in 1917 . Are the Sanderson made 1907 s getting harder to find . The scabbards all have some markings, can’t read them all ,is that mark or letters important to you as a bayonet collector . Thanks for any info you have . Take care

Re: WW1 Remington,Winchester and Sanderson bayonets
Sanderson made the most P-1907s of the several manufacturers, followed by Wilkinson, so the Sanderson is the most frequently found P-1907. The Remington is a P-1913 made for the P-14 rifle. It uses the same scabbard as the P-1907. The Winchester is a M-1917 made for the M-1917 rifle. The scabbard with the M-1910 wire hanger is correct for that bayonet. All three use what is essentially the same blade, the biggest difference in them is the distance between the muzzle ring and the spine of the blade. The P-13 and M-17 are really the same bayonet the markings being the only real difference.
