I had not done any whittling since I was a kid

Post by Maddogfl »

Earlier this year I picked up some Cedar scraps and doodled around with them . The Celtic knot was roughed out on a scroll saw, so I cheated with that. I made several of different kinds of knots and gave them to my kids to put hot pots on. I have to keep the hand out of my wife's sight; it gives here the creeps. I should do my face and she would go stark raving mad. ;)

My worst problem with pursuing whittling is hand cramping. It is just one more joy of growing old.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I do quite a bit of whittling, this is a practice piece I did before doing the hand on a larger piece I made.

::tu:: ::tu:: Nice!

I've become very proficient at carving wood chips. :wink:
It used to bother me when people would admire and call them shavings, but I've come to accept that. :lol:
