Post your carved spoons
Re: Post your carved spoons
“Great Scott,” Scott!
Great work!

Re: Post your carved spoons
Love that plum wood Scott. That's a beauty.
Another mullberry wood spoon. The handle is crooked because of the wood grain direction in the spoon. It actually works good in the hand even though it doesn't look like it.

Nice spoon Doug! I tried to make one of those match stick flowers of yours this evening on the couch.
Ended up with a pile of splinters & one small cut on my left index finger.

Re: Post your carved spoons
Thanks! Sorry to hear that. Start on a corner just slightly down from the very top. Then do another just to the right of it and another just a little bit to the right turning it as you go. I highly recommend at least a decent leather glove on your left hand.
Re: Post your carved spoons
Ok Thanks for the tip Doug! As soon as I get brave enough to try it again, I'll wear a glove.Doug51 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:07 amThanks! Sorry to hear that. Knice work pal. I love it when the wood directs you on how to go!!!
This is an emergency backpack spoon. Tie it inside your backpack on a loop or on a zipper...never be without an eating utensil again!

Another nice one, Scott.
About being without an eating utensil... as long as I have my God-given fingers...

Re: Post your carved spoons
Thanks. Yes sir. It is an Eldris. I love the size. It is handy.
Re: Post your carved spoons
Yes sir. The wood was gnarly and twisted and told me what shape it wanted to be.

Re: Post your carved spoons
Just finished this hammered spoon. The back of the bowl is chipped, making it look hammered and not sanded.....I just thought it
was cool to leave it like that.....
