Whittled a little character.

Post by Doug51 »

Don't know what to call it. Just having fun doing some whittling on a stick of basswood. I'm going to call him uncle Bill because he reminds me of my uncle Bill. Lol!!

Very Nice! Uncle Bill seems to be related to a Scottish Terrier :)

Here's a couple pics of the size. It's about 2 1/4 " tall and just over 1" in diameter. This isn't the knife I used it's just for size reference.

And the stick of basswood and what I ended up with.

Wow Doug, you went from a piece of a limb. Does that grow on your place? ::shrug::

Yes it does. I cut it a while ago and it's been riding in my truck. I finally decided to try and make something with it. I have several basswood trees growing in my woods and have thought about getting some thick boards cut for whittling and carving.

Working on my second. I made it out of the leftover piece of stick in the above picture. It's the same size. Added a little shotgun for fun. I have a little more work to do on it.
