Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

Iceman,

That is a gorgeous Buck Barlow. I did not know Buck had a Barlow made. ::facepalm:: I would love to come across one like that. Congrats on picking this one up...you have a life long treasure. ::tu::

Awhile back, I had been looking for a well used Buck 112 to send to Buck for their Spa treatment. I never did find one but I did find a 110 and I sent that in to the Spa instead. The results were pretty impressive.

I shared the experience with a good friend who seemed quite interested in the project. That was about 2 months ago and today, my friend handed me this beat up 112. He knew that a 112 was what I really wanted the first time so he found this one and bought it for me. It has the 1991 date stamp.

It's headed to the Spa very soon. Probably tomorrow.

That’s an amazing find! ::tu:: ::clapping::

For my part, I’d been looking for a low mileage three-dot 110, because I wanted to carry a knife the same age as me. The result was this like - new gem wearing black micarta. Now half of me can’t wait to get it on my hip, and the other half of me is afraid of getting it dirty!

I did it again! ::dang:: Impulse buy off ebay. I just wanted a 055 buck I had never seen one in person so I picked this up never sharpened like new. It is a nice knife but it is really just like a 503 buck in size  Only difference I see is brass bolsters and clip blade. I still like it but I could have used that money for another style knife. O well I have one more knife to add to my accumulation. :)

Congratulations on the score. I’m chomping at the bit trying to decide. I guess I better hurry up because they are about half sold out already.

Looking forward to your pics.

Thanks, LJ. I’m hoping to keep the original blade but it has severe blade play in the closed position. Possibly caused by a worn tang.

If that’s the case then they will have to replace the blade. I’ll just have to wait and see what their diagnosis is.

It went in the mail yesterday. I shipped my 112 on 1/12. Pure coincidence. I swear.

Well, I passed on the January 2022 Buck of the Month 55. One of the reasons that I passed is because it made me remember that I know a guy that had an April 2019 Buck of the Month 55 for sale privately back in October.

I let that one go too but I contacted him a few days ago assuming that it was probably long gone by now. I got lucky and he still had it. It's on its way to me now.

I recently picked up a solid 112 at a gun show with a ground down blade. Probably had a broken tip, still very usable but sent it for a new blade which comes with a SPA treatment. Thinking about a new 50 year model 112 and a member here has a nce 50 year 110 which would make a nice set. Have had several 110s over the years and lost everyone of them on the farm. I bet there are 1 dozen knives scattered around those woods and fields.

Rick, that sure is a nice Buck 55, the higher grade blade steels are really nice quality improvements (even though the standard Buck steel is more than good enough).

Treated myself to a new Buck Knife today. Local Gunshop had these in stock, I saw it before Christmas but had already spent plenty of $$$ on gifts. I had a doctors appointment this morning and it was near the Gunshop, decided if they still had any I would buy myself one. They actually had two black handled and one brown handled, but all with the higher grade of blade steel, S30V. Buck 112 Slim-Pro. OH
