Which 110?

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

Which 110?

Post by JGinVB »

Is there any agreement among 110 enthusiasts about versions or periods of 110 production that were better or worse?

For me after 45 years as an industrial electrician the two dot era is the best steel 440C for everyday work be it in a .110. Or a .112. Just my two cent worth ::hmm::

I’ve never seen a difference in the blades. Only difference is the handles. Old Macassar Ebony, laminated, or new Ebony. I like the old Ebony best.

I've owned them in 440C, 425MOD, 420HC, S30V, D-2, and 5160. For me I will take a 440C blade over any of them and I also like the old ebony handles. OH

No question about that - they are a bear to sharpen. Once you learn how though they will keep an extremely sharp edge through a lot of deer cleaning. OH

::woot:: I used mine for scraping flanges, cutting wire inserted packing, opening cans, boxes, rope and sometimes mail, also slicing my finger! Was my go to friend when I worked in the engineroom in the Navy. ftd
