Great tool caddy

Post by orvet »

We went to the coast for the Forth of July weekend. So on Friday morning we went to Newport to find some garage sales. We didn't find a lot of stuff, but what I found was very useful for me.

There was a couple who were selling the Tool Kaddie. made by Park Tool. The lady said she sells them on ebay for $25 but was selling them there for $8 each! They are made for Bicycle mechanics to store their tools in on the pedestal stand they clamp the bicycle to.

I bought 2 of them and really like them. I have not made a way to mount them yet and may not even do that, however they are certainly handy for keeping a lot of tools close at hand when working on any project.
They really work nice for knife repair!

They will even stack on top of one another without loosing too much space.
The two Kaddies in the previous picture set on top one another without moving any of the tools I had in them.

That's pretty darn cool right there!

I think they would be great for the desk to put scissors, rulers, magic markers, letter openers, small screwdrivers, plus pens and pencils in. All that stuff I now have in a coffee cup. Might even work out in the kitchen for those small utensils you use frequently.

Those are cool, but I'd have to make room on my bench to put them...

I had the same problem until I started loading up the Kaddies. They hold much more than they appear to and I even moved items off the rack above my bench to put in them.
I cleared about twice the room as the kaddies hold, so they had plenty of room once I had them loaded up, plus there is a lot more room in them.
I am trying to use them for the tools I use on most every repair or the tools that I use frequently have to reach for.

I may even make a pedestal to mount them on. ::shrug::
I am having fun playing with them right now.

But then I would be organized...I don't know what I would do with myself after that.
