Marbles pommel
Marbles pommel
Looking for a pommel for one of my Marbles hunting knives. Thanks
Re: Marbles pommel
There are different size pommels for different size blades, different shaped pommels from different years, and pommels for many models with different size pommel nut holes. So to match your knife a lot more info would be required. Some also had stag pommels and again even with these there were a couple different pommel nut sizes. And there were bakelite pommels in some models for some years, these will usually have the smaller 3/8" pommel nut hole. perhaps if you posted photos of your knife and the stamped marks on the ricasso you will get a better reply with what you actually need. Also if you have the correct pommel nut posting it's outside diameter would help you find the correct pommel. I see the more common aluminum pommels for later Woodcraft and smaller Ideal models on ebay occasionally.

Thanks ill post pics. Its 3/8 hole
Re: Marbles pommel
That leather handle isn't original so an original pommel will not line up correctly with it. You do need the most common aluminum pommel but the "restored" knife won't have a lot of monetary value since the blade is in such poor condition. To return it to what it once looked like you would need an entire handle assembly with proper leather, brass and fiber spacers and pommel.

Re: Marbles pommel
Your best bet might be to find an Ideal the same size with a decent handle/pommel and a spent blade. There are a bunch of spent Marble's knives on eBay or at auction. Here's an example to go by, hope this helps!

Buy yourself a chunk of aluminum and make your own!
One of the first knives my son made he put a bird's head pommel on it. I thought he got into my spare pommels, but he said, "No, I made it out of that piece of aluminum."
He made his strictly with a file and sandpaper. It looked better than many factory pommels!
