Wanted: Spring for 1971 Case 6375
Wanted: Spring for 1971 Case 6375
I need a spring for a Case 6375. Should be about 4 1/16" - 4 1/8". This is the spring for the 2 smaller blades, not the clip. Thanks

What is the thickness of the spring you need?

Unfortunately, I don't have the broken pieces of the original spring. As best I can tell, the thickness of the blade tangs and the empty gap in the back of the knife is .096". (I used a #41 drill bit as a feeler gauge and it fit perfectly.) If I get a spring that is slightly larger, no problem. i will just mill it down.

I looked thru my junk to see if I had something that may work but no luck. That is a real large knife with a real long spring. You might have to make one, it is not that difficult. I have some 1075A gunsmiths springstock that might work.

Yes, make you one....
When you are making it, remember that the most important area is from the rocker hole to the end where it engages the blade. That is where all the bending and snap-back area is. And the part where it engages the blade needs to be hard to reduce wear on the spring.
You can do it.

I'm pretty sure I would have one. Where? Give me a day or two to look.

I think I have found one and overlaid it on a frame. It is from the XX era and about 4" long on the dot and .104 thick. Want to pay the postage right or wrong (spring only) ? PM me your mailing address if so and I'll get it out. Wish I had the rest of this knife.
