Looking For Some Lemon Yellow Acrylic For Knife Handles
Looking For Some Lemon Yellow Acrylic For Knife Handles
I recently acquired a Schrade Walden 225Y, a knife I never knew existed until recently. There's a bit of info here on AAPK about this unique model.
It has lemon yellow celluloid handles and they are starting to outgas. Luckily, the damage is mostly cosmetic. The secondary blade is easily replaced. But I haven been able to find acrylic in the bright lemon yellow color. Muskratman used to have some on his website but its no longer there.
Does anyone know where I can get some acrylic in this color?
Thanks.
Jeff

I also think I got some on ebay, as DG mentioned above.

Thanks Nev. I usually avoid G10 whenever possible.

This is the stuff I have.
Let me know if you can't find any, I can cut you a piece.

Thanks Glenn.
I found a source for smaller pieces that would work for knife handles. It’s 1/8” thick though so I’ll have to see if that’s thick enough for this particular knife. It should be close.

Thanks! I found a company with a couple of different shades of yellow so we’ll give it a try.

I have some of the yellow material I got from Kaleb if things don't work out for you. It was posted on here some time back that you can get a different finished look on this material by painting the inside white. I have tried that, and it really works.

The original celluloid yellow handles are painted white on the back side so that must be the way to go.
Thanks.
