I guess after accumulating a few more over the years, the #48 has become my favorite by a narrow margin. Picking your favorite is kinda like picking your favorite child or grandchild.

Here is one of my favorite GEC's. Don't see many with the saber grind.

kj, your 85 easy open knife is a beautiful example! Attached is a side-by-side picture of the saber ground spear on your knife to the flat ground spear that was on the 2018 85 pattern.kootenay joe wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 8:14 pm Here is one of my favorite GEC's. Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Thanks for posting this comparison. The blade profiles are quite different. I like the symmetry of my saber ground blade profile.
I should get out all of my GEC spear point blades. I think no 2 are the same; i.e. the spear point blade in each pattern is unique.

Yer GEC is sweet Roland! Sabre ground makes for a very classy knife, as long as it's done in good taste. I think they nailed it with this one .

Both those 29's are very nice. I carry a stag 29. I bet if you carried the red jigged bone 29, the bone would actually look even better with slightly worn down jigging.
You've got some very nice GEC's Willy. Problem is: it just makes a guy want more.

Thank you Mr. Roland . I really appreciate your comments .
I can't disagree at all, especially on always adding another one to the hoard .
For now the #29 is going to be a display queen. I'm thinking if i want a edc 29, i'll get myself a "plain jane" Tidioute version, then i wouldn't feel bad about scratching it up a bit, even drop it a few times (don't ask me how i know ).
Thank you again for letting me share .

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
This little 25 in Primitive Bone just became one of my favorites! This is such a beauty!! I dig both blades and the way they are set up with the small blade in front.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
I find the #46 ("Whaler") pattern to be too massive, more of a show piece than a knife to use. For a Sunfish pattern, the GEC #36, is 'just right'.
Here is one from 2009 with stag and a shield and double pull master blade. The stag feels great in hand, not bulky but thick enough to suit this large pattern.
This one will be hard to sell, meaning, hard to let go of.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
I also like the larger knives here are the three 362211DP Burnt Stag, only 3 made .
Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Wrong picture again those are 2 # 362210STL and the middle one is A 362209DP Genuine Stag . Posting these pictures from my cell phone and when I go to the device storage it shows me a line of pictures that are about 1/4" in size, even with a magnifying glass I usually pick the wrong one. Adog.

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Only 3 of these were made with stag in 2011 ? And you own all three !
Any thoughts on current market value of a stag #36 ?
I was asked if i wanted to sell my 2009 stag #36 (shown on previous page). I don't, but the fellow offered me what i think is too low and he thought my assessment of value was far too high. So i'm asking here. What do you think these are worth ?

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Well I am like you I don't want to sell any of these, the last one of the three came pretty dear. But I have three grandsons so they can each have one. The prices that big GEC Stag have been getting is really going up, as I don't sell only collect I'm not a good person to place a value on knives , I've probably paid to much for some of mine, but there were other bidders driving the price, here are some Stag Whalers five Burnt Stag And the bottom is Genuine Stag, Adog
Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Here is a 362209DP Exterior Mammoth Ivory and a 362211STL Mammoth Ivory serial number 13 , the production total page showes only 12 made but I think that they make them as material comes available. These are some of my favorite knives for sure. Adog

Re: Show off your favorite GECs!
Adog, you have the Great collection of Big Stag GEC knives. Very impressive. Some years ago there was a Stag #46 on ebay that sold for $1200. If a collector wants one of these now they will have to spend Big Bucks. I think the 36 & 45/46 are the most expensive GEC patterns.
