I posted this knife in a seperate thread, but it fits in here too, so here is my Tidioute 721112 Ebony Lockback. Just paging back through all the woodies here and wow, those are some amazing looking knives! I saw a cocobolo "little carver" a few pages back that I reallllllly like the looks of! I think of all the GEC handle variations I've looked at, I am most impressed with the quality and variety of the woods, talk about some classic looking knives, wow.

How do the wood handles hold up? I know GEC is top notch, but will they hold up like bone or stag? How much maintenance goes into having one of these beautiful knives?

What a beautiful group of 57's Jim,congrats ::drool:: Killer pics my friend ::tu:: ::tu::

Texas Aggie...I don't carry any GEC's with wood scales but aside from the usual wear and tear dings and natural darkening as long as you keep the wood oiled or waxed I would think they would do fine.

I carry a 72 ebony handled everyday. No problems with this wood.Guess thats one reason they used ebony on many very old knives , besides the color.

Thanks on the chestnut. I think the '10 muskrat was the only time they used it. Here are a couple others I've gotten but haven't posted pics in this thread yet.
