Very fine #89 whittler. Nicest i have seen of this pattern. Some of the early knives (this one is 2009) are among the best of all GEC's to date. There is more Micarta used now and no more ivory or mammoth ? Ahh, that beautiful sleek and suave Stag Whittler reminds us of the 'good ol' daze'.

Re: Mail Call, Post Your New GECs.
That is a nice whittler. I had one in 2nd cut stag that I foolishly traded off years ago.
This 85 came in just before on trade. Completes my set of stag 85s from 11/12. Spear pen, spear awl and clip pen.
This one showed up a few weeks ago. Wonderful fit and finish, good walk and talk, 5ish pull. That shield. This 85 came in just before on trade. Completes my set of stag 85s from 11/12. Spear pen, spear awl and clip pen.

Great Folding Hunter and love the 85. Maybe one day GEC will do a Spear & Manicure blade combo. A stout manicure with a bit of aggressive file pattern is useful for torn fingernails and filing non body parts as well.

Yes, as in the old WW I navy issue knives. It would be a great knife to actually use.

GEC#65 Ben Hogan Autumn Gold bone 2011 Some guy lost his job and he had to sell about 12 GEC knives from 2011-2017 on EBAY. He did not lose any money on this one.

Re: Mail Call, Post Your New GECs.
I just bought this GEC#12 Sambar Stag from KnivesShippedFree. Every dealer sold out in hours ,except for Traditional Pocket Knives. TPK was late posting there knives , so they have 5 left un-sold. More dealers will be receiving their Sambar toothpicks Saturday or next week. So don't give up. I own the only phat one that I have seen so far. This knife was made just for one arm me.

KJ sold me all but the toothpick. Beautiful knives all.

Man Greg S. you live right next to "Blade". Gives you the opportunity of picking up the best knives, every year !
The mammoth #12 is a 2009 knife. It really is disappointing that there was no mammoth in the 2019 #12's. It makes the older mammoth GEC's a special score.

I agree Roland. I'm only 15 minutes from the Blade Show. I've gotten lucky two years in a row finding stellar mammoth pieces.kootenay joe wrote:Man Greg S. you live right next to "Blade". Gives you the opportunity of picking up the best knives, every year !

Wow gsmith, great blade show haul. Beauties.
My one and only toothpick showed up today. The bones did it to me. Nice size and blade for it.
