It is a bit odd. All of my previous GEC's from last few years have arrived with sharp edges. This 'carver' seems to have poorly sharpened edges even though the Wharncliffe is the easiest of all blade profiles to sharpen.

It’s been an hour and a half since TKC released their allotment of Cocobola 62 pocket carvers and they still have plenty. If you haven’t bought one of these in Cocobola, do yourself a favor and get one. Absolutely gorgeous.

Yesterday after the factory shut down announcement , I ordered a white bone #62 carver and a #38 bocote wood knife. I'll have plenty of time to save up for more #23 Trappers. Thirty-two workers are out of work.

Nice carving! I like the orange color handle. Did some of those get shipped out before the closing?

Count me as skeptical when it came to this 62 w/ Muslin Micarta. I wasn’t going to buy one and then I found out I had early reserved one at CK. I haven’t bought one of the GEC’s bare ends lower priced knives before and I wasn’t expecting the quality to be that great. But I am pleasantly surprised.
I am very impressed w/ the run up on this. On the main blade it’s very tight as you can see in the photo. The two smaller blades, not quite as tight and a small gap on one of the blades. The two smaller blades are not the same length, one is slightly longer than the other one. Not sure if that was deliberate or a quality control issue. The pull is not too hard and not too soft on any blade, it’s really just right. The half stops are very pronounced and the snap is very good. All in all a very nice knife for 80 bucks.

Do any of you have an extra one of these carving knives or know where I can get on. I would love to have one with bolsters and white ivory handles. Thanks
