BOKER U.S.A. Tang Stamp Help Please

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

Hi. Only the main blade is stamped. One side has BOKER U.S.A. and the other side has the remains of the tree logo with what "appears" to be 65113 or 85113 or ??113 under it. If it helps, the shield has remains of the tree logo also. What year(s) is this from?

That is a well worn pattern number 8313 "carpenter's whittler" as Boker called it.
That is a neat old knife as it is a true whittler with split backsprings and a tapered brass liner between.
Whipping open my copy of BOKER: TWO CENTURIES AND TWO COUNTRIES REPRESENTING ONE NAME IN CUTLERY EXCELLENCE, written by a couple of really good looking and quite intelligent young men... ::nod:: :D
On page 175, I can estimate that Boker USA made this pattern with delrin handles from the early 1970s to 1981.
Too bad the tree is worn off the shield, or you would be able to tell if it was made before 1976 or after.
I hope this helps,
Ricky

I see. The tree trunk looked like a number. Yes 8313 is the number.
I am thinking about purchasing the Boker Book. Thank you much, NWNY. ::tu::

I just picked up my Boker book and i am very pleased i bought it. Well laid out and easy to read. This is a good book and a good reference.
The jigging on these handles looks unlike any other. Is this the usual 'Delrin jig' for Boker USA ?
