3-1/4" long closed Heinr. Boker heavy gold & silver scales with what looks like the Mexican Eagle with a snake in it's mouth symbol on one side and an Aztec looking symbol on the other.
Weighs 2 ounces. It's heavy.
Anyone know anything about it?
Boker established an operation in Mexico in 1865.
It is in great condition.
I have never seen another one
Thanks,
Heinr. Boker 2 Blade Corkscrew Gold, Silver Mexican Eagle

That is a beautiful piece!
The tang stamp was used on Solingen Germany made knives primarily in the 1930s to 1950s, but the Tree stamp on the back of the tang usually indicates pre-WW2 manufacture. So, I would say best guess is 1930s.
Is that eagle perched on an anchor? Nah, I think it is a cactus.
In the late 1920s, Mexico City experienced an interest in the ancient AZTEC empire and the city of Tenochtitlan - which was located where Mexico City now stands. Perhaps this knife was made during that time for that reason. The circular symbol looks a lot like the Aztec calendar, or "Sun stone of Tenochtitlan".

That is a GREAT knife. I bet it is rather heavy with the silver & gold. Not the usual metal handled pen knife.
