My Dad's Boker 9885

Post by Meridian_Mike »

Well, I had NO IDEA my Dad's Boker was still in family hands. BUT, it is!!
My sister came down for a visit from Kentucky this past weekend. When she was unpacking her suitcase, she pulled out a paper towel wrapped object and handed it to me. After I unwrapped it, I saw a knife....... a nice Boker..... but then she told me it was our Dad's knife. You could have floored me with a feather.
I remembered my Dad having a Boker BUT, I had forgotten the details. I remembered he would use it to skin squirrels whenever we were lucky enough to get a couple. This is probably the knife my Dad used when he taught ME how to skin a squirrel...... ah, memories!
I now had my Dad's knife for my knife collection..... This one is a REAL treasure!
This is now the center piece for my Boker collection!

It needs some clean up....I oiled it a little and WOW... this joker has some SNAP!!

Your father had great taste. Beautiful knife and it looks like it could keep skinning squirrels for generations to come.

You are lucky indeed to have that one, Mike! I have my Grandfather's Boker stockman also. Very important knives.

I have one of my Grandfather's knives but the only problem is..... He used his knives until they were GONE! He got the most out of 'em and then pitched the stump. SO.... I have his last nearly used up knife ... BUT.....It has special meaning too!

Congratulations on getting your dad’s pocket knife! A treasure for sure. ::tu::

My dad was mostly a Case guy, but he carried several different ones at various times during his life. I have the Böker whittler that he was carrying the day I took him to the hospital before he passed away.
