New Series F&W confusion

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

New Series F&W confusion

Post by Dan97526 »

Gentlemen,

I am really enamored of the F&W Saddlehorn Lockback and have decided I need to buy one. However, I'm confused as to the handles. AG Russell implies that this knife, being in the new F&W series, is only available in "Morning Ash" wormgroove bone. However, SMKW's site lists the Saddlehorn Lockback as having "Mountain Moss" wormgroove bone.

I would prefer the green bone, but I'm hesitant to take SMKW's word for it. I didn't think that the F&W series came in more than one handle option for any given series, but I don't have any confirmation.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

SMKW has a money back guarantee on any knife you buy from them, so if you get one and are not happy with it, send it back. They even include a form for doing so in the package with the knife. All you will be out is the postage.

SMKW has simply made a mistake. It is only available in the new series of Ash bone. Even SMKW shows the Ash bone model, just has the wrong text.

They come out with an initial run of them, then paused for a several months due to some kind of tooling issue. I just got notice this last week that they were shipping again and I had some on the way.
