My first Queen Cutlery knife

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

My first Queen Cutlery knife

Post by Tom_123 »

…and my first post here as well, so hello everybody.

I managed to get this nice Toothpick:

Image

It’s in mint condition, though the bolsters are already a bit dull and blotchy.
I think it’s an older version of the large toothpick that is still made by Queen Cutlery.

I have no idea though, what this ‘Rawhide Series’ is about?
There’s a 94 stamped into the ricasso, could this be the production date?

If anybody knows more about this knife, I’d really appreciate any further information
that I can get.

Regards
Thomas

Tom, welcome to AAPK! I think you're gonna like it here! ::tu::

The Rawhide Series was put out by Queen from 1979 to about 2001 and consisted of several dozen traditional patterns. All of the knives in the series I've seen have wooden (birch?) scales. You are correct: the little number on the tang next to the Q is the year your knife was produced.

Nice knife ya got there!
