Queen Dan Burke

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

Resurrecting this old thread. Just picked up my first Queen Dan Burke Knife. Really taken with this Winterbottom bone handled stockman. I have seen some very nice black pearl doctor’s knives that I wouldn’t mind having as well.
Gary Thomas posted this one last week and I couldn’t resist it.

I've owned a couple different Queen Dan Burke knives over the years, but this #51 Mini Trapper is my favorite.

That is a beautiful knife! I’m smitten by this bone color and jigging. I thought Queen’s specialty was amber bone stag, but now there is a rival for that #1 spot.
I hope you and others will post more pics of these Dan Burke knives, these deserve more attention.
Thanks Q

Oh man. Beau-ti-ful knives guys ::super_happy:: ::tu:: .
For sure the best Queens ever made. They perfected the colorization/fit n' finish on these Winterbottom, no question about it ::nod:: .
Pre-2000 queens are excellent, these are perfect.
Got to pick me up some (eventually, after everything else I "need"  ).

I've been hunting for a Dan Burke Barlow for some time and finally landed one. Has to be one of my favorites and one of Queen's best efforts.

Thanks Mark, Once I got it, all I had to do is give it a cleaning and I was surprised at how a little TLC brought out the real beauty of the scales. Good luck with your hunt.

Garry, that’s an amazing knife. Haven’t seen that one before either. Very nice.

Thanks. The steer's head is actually carved out of what became the bone covers. In other words, its not a figure that was glued or applied onto the bone in some manner.

A bit of a necro, but does anyone know when the #26 stockman with the 12C27 blades and winterbottom bone was released? Seems like it was around the early 2000s, but does anyone have the actual year it came out? Thanks!
