My newest Queen

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

A great group of Queens, all with the enclosed springs and aluminum frames.
The Barlow styles are so light weight I'm almost scared to use one. ::facepalm::

Nice pick up, Big H. ::tu:: There's something very satisfying about a complete collector set, IMO. I am wondering if you are going to use them or keep them pristine safe queens, though?? ::hmm:: (Life is full of tough choices!) ::undecided::

 I'm the same way...I have exactly four EDCs that I've been carrying for years, yet for some reason I keep buying new knives under the pretext of adding them to my EDC rotation but then I never do. I'll just admit it: I'm a hopeless knife addict...I just can't help myself. ::doh::

This #51 single blade factory sample with Rosewood handle. Tang stamp shows what I believe is a "Big Q" from 1945-1955...but, I'm not so sure of the date of manufacture because it came in a white S&M box (and the ID label on the box is correct for this knife). It's a mystery. ::undecided::

This is one of those patterns that never really called out to me; but, when I saw the stag handle on this 1981 NKCA equal end cigar (I don't know the pattern number) I had to have it. At 4¼" closed it's bigger than I normally prefer, but the bigger size does allow for more stag surface area. :D As big as it is, at least it only has a single spring instead of two, which would have made it too thick and heavy.

Right after I bought this knife I started seeing a lot of the same model popping up for sale on eBay (although none of the others I've seen have gnarly stag like this one). Shouldn't be too surprising, though, since apparently they made 12,000 of this model...mine is number 02465.

Snagged another NKCA Equal End Cigar with stag handle. A lot of these are showing up for sale recently with a great variety of stag...some going for close to or over $100. I paid $48 for this one and I think it has some of the nicer stag handles. The NKCA shield has been replaced with a reverse cameo shield that appears to be some kind of synthetic/plastic material. I bought this knife because of the stag, but even though the unusual shield may be why it sold for so low compared to all the others, it only makes it more unique IMO.

::paranoid:: Dose this count as a Queen? ::shrug:: It was made in the same factory in Titusville.. ::hmm:: Maybe by the same workers that later made Queen knives... Like my Mother's relatives... ::hmm:: She was born and raised in Titusville.
