My only Horse knife

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

Nice piece! I was into horses a few years in my late preteen years and usually carried a cheap Cashel from Tractor Supply.

I saw one just like it that SMKW had on offer recently (and almost bought it--as the price was close to MSRP), and I find that one really unique. Most of the US knifemakers that make a knife with a hoof pick (Case, Bear for Moore Maker) take a Trapper and replace the spey with a hoof cleaner. Yet, that one is in a Jumbo Stockman frame, and it has a handy punch.

I'd like to find more of em.
I just turned the horses and harness and carts into mostly knives. I had a pretty bad cart wreck last fall when a bolt worked out and things went kafooie! Damn glad the horse was trained si good, she just stopped and stood stock still until I came to and figured out what end was up. At 76 Im too old for the business! Had driving horses for 6o years, real hard to give up.
