Re: Hubertus 4 7/8" Old Lockback
Got this in the mail and decided to post some pics. It is quite large and the blade is
full or 99%. I would like to find out its age if anyone has a good idea. It has a tang
stamp thats pictured here, the back tang says 'MADE IN GERMANY'. I have several
hubies but this is my first lockback model. The car in the photo is a Buddy-L Scarab
car that my Dad played with as a boy in the early fifties. My guess is the knife is close
to that age too. The lock on the knife is stiff and I don't know a Barbara so I was
thinking on getting it re-done. Was thinking stag and maybe a thong hole. I don't
really care for the color of the bolsters either. On the other hand, I don't want to
destroy its value completely.....................comments or suggestions please.
The Scarab Car still works, although not every time (gears mis-aligned looks like)
